Se ha lanzado el portal negociosinclusivos.org.  El portal surge de la iniciativa de instituciones líderes en el sector de los Negocios Inclusivos, que unieron fuerzas con el fin de promover y compilar en un sólo lugar información y recursos sobre este modelo de negocios.

En el portal encontrará: información detallada sobre los Negocios Inclusivos, estudios académicos y casos prácticos, metodologías de aplicación y medición de impacto de los mismos y, noticias y eventos relacionados con los Negocios Inclusivos.

New WBCSD report - "Business and Development: Challenges and Opportunities in a Rapidly Changing World"

What are the links between business and development? And what is the business role and opportunity in addressing sustainability challenges of developing countries and emerging economies? These questions are addressed in a report launched today by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

The report draws on a decade of WBCSD thought leadership and practical experience in promoting business solutions to sustainability issues in the developing world.

IDB launches “Corporate Leaders Program for Success in Majority Markets”

The Latin America and Caribbean region has experienced significant growth in profitable business activities that focus on the “base of the pyramid’ (BOP) in recent years, especially in the micro-enterprise and SME sectors. However, despite these successful innovations and some notable initiatives by medium and larger sized companies, there are still large opportunities waiting to be tapped in the region’s $500 billion per year low-income consumer markets.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is now offering a unique new program, titled Corporate Leaders Program for Success in Majority Markets, designed especially to help the region’s private sector businesses achieve long-term commercial success and corporate leadership in designing new and inclusive business models for the base of the pyramid.

2010 World Business and Development Awards launched

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) have opened nominations for the 2010 World Business and Development Awards in support of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – eight internationally-agreed goals to alleviate poverty by 2015.

Created in 2000, the Awards recognize the key contributions the private sector has made to the MDGs, demonstrating how innovative business models, backed by strong partnerships, can enjoy commercial success and at the same time improve the lives of millions of people.

CESPEDES impulsa el desarrollo de negocios inclusivos en México

En  julio de 2009, tuvimos el agrado de informarles sobre el Programa Desarrollo de Nuevas Oportunidades de Mercado en la Base Económica de la Pirámide ejecutado por la organización representante del WBCSD en México, la Comisión de Estudios del Sector Privado para el Desarrollo Sustentable (CESPEDES).

La segunda mitad del 2009 fue importantemente marcada como clave para el desarrollo ulterior del Programa y su significado para las acciones futuras en materia de negocios inclusivos de CESPEDES. En su última edición informativa (descargar documento pdf, 4 páginas) se muestran nuevos hallazgos y lecciones del Programa, los mismos que fortalecen los activos de CESPEDES y sus aspiraciones de alto alcance en materia de negocios inclusivos para México.

Driving development in the Americas through public-private partnerships

In a recently published editorial piece, Neil Ghosh of SNV Netherlands Development Organization and Sean Bartlett of Foreign Policy Digest point to the "strong body of work that demonstrates the benefits of public-private partnerships in Latin America in areas such as education, infrastructure and agriculture." In their view, "the current examples of the leaps and bounds made by the Brazilian economy can also serve as a model for the rest of Latin America: a strong and active public sector that competitively funds private sector initiatives and creates an attractive environment for foreign investment will positively benefit the economy and the livelihood of citizens."
